Tuesday’s here. And we’re still not going to address the Brad and Angelina breakup rumors because rumors just aren’t important (until some of them are confirmed). Nor are we going to talk about the fact that Avatar’s now sunk Titanic as worldwide box office champ. Instead because it’s Tuesday, let’s talk about music. As in, here’s something a little er, unusual if you’re buying albums or downloading new tunes. So we know that after weeks at the top Susan Boyle was finally dethroned by Ke$ha; but here’s where it gets good, because now those two ladies are going to have to take a back seat to music’s latest chart topper. Who would be: a) A diva? b) A vixen? c) A suave crooner? D) A young lord of hip-hoprisy? None of the above. The quirky indie band Vampire Weekend took Billboard’s #1- selling record spot away from the girls with an alternative album called “Contra”. Who knows how long the preppy quartet (who met at Columbia University in New York City) will reign, but it’s safe to say with this news they’ll be enjoying their (vampire) weekends for quite a while. And now we have obituaries for two popular TV stars. First, James Mitchell – better known as beloved patriarch Palmer Cortlandt on ABC’s daytime drama “All My Children” – has died at age 89. And actor Pernell Roberts, who starred in the series “Bonanza” before going on to star in “Trapper John, MD” has also passed at age 81. Speaking of beloved stars, there’s a brand new national poll out right now that’s listing America’s favorite TV personalities, and we want to know where you stand on the results. Oprah took the poll’s top spot (which may not be surprising, although she did have to take it back from Ellen DeGeneres, last year’s #1). The #2 spot is less obvious: fiery Fox personality Glenn Beck. The bronze medal here went to Jay Leno, and 4th place featured a tie between Ellen and “House”‘s Hugh Laurie. So what do you think about the list? Voice your choice in today’s featured poll and tell us which of these “Favorite TV Personalities” is YOUR favorite.
2) Glenn Beck
3) Jay Leno
4) Ellen/Hugh (tied)
