How will Downton move forward without Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens)?
The new season 4 trailer gives us some clues. While a despondent Mary (Michelle Dockery) is encouraged to “choose life” by the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith), Branson (Allen Leech) locks lips with a brunette (who we think is his daughter’s nanny). Meanwhile, Bates (Brendan Coyle) breaks down (is there trouble brewing between him and Anna?).
It’s not all doom and gloom however. The teaser ends with glimpses of the family smiling and dancing (there are also quite a few appearances by Gary Carr, who plays jazz singer Jack Ross), and even some sneak peeks at Mary with her potential new love interests.
In other words, Downton is moving on, but can you? Will you continue to watch the series now that Matthew is gone? Are you interested in seeing widowed Mary find love again? Discuss in the comments.
