The artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg has undergone yet another name change, and this time, all calls and mail should be forwarded to “Snoopzilla.” The new moniker was inspired by funk legend Bootsy Collins, who often went by the nickname Bootzilla. It was only fitting that
Snoop Snoopzilla change his name to honor the funk master, who helped inspired his new album, 7 Days of Funk.
But this isn’t the first time Snoop has had a change of heart. Here’s a look at some of the other titles he’s given himself:
Snoop Lion: Before evoking images of Godzilla, Snoopzilla was evoking images of one of the Animal Kingdom’s greatest predators.
Snoop Dogg: Classic and simple, but would you ever truly call Snoopzilla a simple man?
Snoop Doggy Dogg: Ah, the classic, recalling memories of 90s hip-hop and parental advisory labels on CD’s. As they say, everything old is new again, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the rapper brought this one back — for his next promotional tour.
What do you think of Snoopzilla? Which name do you prefer?
