There’s traffic, paparazzi and constant industry talk, but for all the seemingly negative things about Los Angeles, celebrities have a lot of love for LaLa Land, and in Thirty Seconds to Mars’ new short film for City of Angels, the music group rounded up some major bold-faced names to wax poetically–and get real–about the city.

Kanye West loves the architecture, Lindsay Lohan says L.A. is where she found “the real me” and Olivia Wilde calls it the Promise Land. Even a few Hollywood icon impersonators, like “Marilyn Monroe” and “Michael Jackson” chime in.

If we’re supposed to learn anything from the film, it’s that the often ragged-on L.A. is more like a veritable Emerald City for actors, musicians and big dreamers.
