The 2 Broke Girls are taking over The People’s Choice Awards!

Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings — who play financially strapped Brooklyn waitresses on the CBS sitcom — are teaming up to host the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 8. The show will mark the duo’s first hosting gig.

“Kat and Beth are great additions to our People’s Choice family and we are excited to have them host the show,” said People’s Choice Awards Executive Producer Mark Burnett in a statement. “Their energy and charisma are a perfect fit for our audience.”

Behrs and Dennings are no strangers to the fan-driven award show.  They were both on hand to accept a People’s Choice trophy for Favorite New TV Comedy for 2 Broke Girls in 2012 (see photo above).

The duo will inherit the hosting mantle from Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, who helmed the show the last two years.

The People’s Choice Awards Live Red Carpet Arrivals Show — which will be hosted by Fandango’s Dave Karger, SuChin Pak and Tim Gunn — will stream on PeoplesChoice.com on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at 8/7 central. Tune in to see hosts Karger, Pak and Gunn hand out the first awards of the night, interview fan favorites and talk fashion trends. Then tune-in to CBS at 9/8 central to watch the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theater in L.A.
