It’s all about the music, but with this year’s Favorite Female Artist nominees, it’s also about the major fashion moments on stage. There’s a python, acrobatics and more–check out our round-up of the nominees’ splashiest concert outfits:
Britney Spears: Spears has had a lot of memorable onstage ensembles, including that barely-there bejeweled number at the 2000 VMAs and her Circus ringleader outfit for her 2009 tour, but the one that we still can’t get out of our heads involved some genie-in-a-bottle inspiration and a python. Of course we’re talking about her 2001 performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U” during the 2001 MTV VMA’s. There was even a real lion on stage!
Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and more after the jump!
Demi Lovato: During a 2012 appearance on Good Morning America, the pop star and X Factor judge turned up in a leather skirt, spiked moto jacket–and pink dip-dyed hair.
Katy Perry: This singer is so synonymous with awesomely wild and wacky onstage get-ups that it was hard to pick one. But our vote goes to this carousel dress designed by Manish Arora that Perry wore to the 2008 MTV Europe Awards.
P!nk: During her Truth About Love world tour earlier this year, P!nk channeled Cirque du Soleil with some serious gravity-defying acrobatic moves. Pair those with outfits that revealed toned legs and washboard abs, and color us majorly impressed.
Selena Gomez: With a Bollywood-inspired tune, it was only fitting that Gomez performed “Come & Get It” with a Bollywood-inspired costume and routine at this year’s MTV VMA’s. Just one question: Where can we got that gorgeous red dress?
Which outfit is tops for you? And which Favorite Female Artist will you be voting for this year?
