The film easily eclipsed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone twelve-year old record of $82 million dollars. Will Ferrell took over a local Bismark news broadcast as his popular alter ego Ron Burgundy Saturday night and did what Ron Burgundy does best: report the news. 3. Fly the friendly skies with… a dragon? Air New Zealand has unveiled a giant image of Smaug the dragon on its plane to celebrate the premiere of the second film in The Hobbit trilogy. The aircraft also featured a special Hobbit-themed in-flight safety video, which included a digital Gollum pointing out airplane safety lights. [Telegraph]
