Miley Cyrus Among Time’s Person of the Year Finalists. Who Really Deserves the Title?

‘Tis the season for end of the year lists. From best movie of the year to most entertaining TV show of 2013, those eagerly anticipated lists are a joy to read, but this end of the year list carries a bit more gravitas than debating the merits of Parks and Recreation vs. The Big Bang Theory. Time magazine announced their top ten finalists for the 2013 Person of the Year distinction yesterday for the individual they believe, for good or bad, influenced the news the most this year.

While the list includes a slew of world leaders — including former two time winner President Obama — and influential businessmen — like founder Jeff Bezos — there’s also an entertainer (yes, only one) on the list. So, who made the cut? Singer, actress, and twerking enthusiast Miley Cyrus, of course.

There’s no question that Miley kept the news cycle spinning in 2013 — but does she belong on this list? If yes, tell us why in the comments.  If no, tell us which entertainer you would have nominated.

Miley Cyrus was the only entertainer to be nominated for 2013 Person of the Year. Which pop culture performer would you add to the list of nominees?
