Taylor Swift decided to stop and smell the roses for her 24th birthday. Literally.
The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer celebrated her big day with a garden themed bash in Melbourne and quite a few close friends, including one especially notable guest: Grammy nominated Lorde.
Swift — who shared photos from the party on Facebook — has plenty of reasons to celebrate as she ascends towards her mid-twenties. “A Golden Globe nomination on my birthday,” Swift wrote on her Twitter page. “I think it’s safe to say there will be no walking for me today, only skipping and frolicking.”
There’s no better location to frolic than a garden. Take a look at the photos (and our commentary) below!
I hate to break this to you, Lorde, but this is the textbook definition of “postcode envy.”
This photo would make a sensational future album cover. Dropping in May of 2015 Taylor Swift’s “Stop and Smell the Roses.” I already have the first line of my review written. “Swift’s latest musical endeavor, the quaintly titled “Stop and Smell the Roses,” is anything but your typical garden variety Swift album.”
Great pun, future Josh!
Hopefully this photo was followed by the phrase, “Okay, now let’s do a silly one!”
It wouldn’t be a Melbourne garden party without flowers! Would you say those flowers are pink or P!nk?
This is my favorite picture of the album. Lorde has the apprehensive look of someone who was just asked to comprehensively explain how the internet works to a room full of their ex-boyfriends. Also, over 20,000 people “liked” this photo on Facebook. 20,000! If I posted a picture of George Clooney, Grumpy Cat and me jet skiing on the Pacific I’d probably only receive about 30 “likes” and a comment from my Aunt informing me that Nickelodeon now airs Friends reruns. Sigh. No one told me life was gonna be this way.
Swift referred to her 24th birthday garden party spectacular as “the best birthday I’ve ever had.”
