TV Year in Review: 5 Things That YOU Loved in 2013!

Earlier this year we asked you, the People’s Choice faithful, what exactly made TV so amazing in 2013 and your answers did not disappoint! We sifted through all the comments to learn what you loved, hated, and became OBSESSED with during the 2013 television season. Here’s what we found out!

1. We weren’t the only ones who found Glee’s tribute to Corey Monteith heartwarming.

“The Quarterback,” Glee’s farewell episode to late actor Corey Monteith, received a number of votes for “Most emotional scene of the year” as well as “Best musical moment.” From Mr. Schue grieving over his loss with Finn’s jacket to Lea Michele’s visceral performance of “Make you Feel My Love,” it’s difficult to find a more emotional 44 minutes of television this season.

2. The Vampire Diaries evokes many STRONG emotions.

Some of you love it and others were so upset over Elena and Stefan that they flat-out stopped watching it, but either way The Vampire Diaries was one of the most discussed shows on our thread. Stefan and Elena’s sultry prom encounter,  Elena’s humanity and Damon and Elena’s climatic scene were all discussed, but the most buzzworthy moment of the season was the Stefan and Elena “almost kiss,” scored to Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity.”

3. Should the title be changed to How Barney Met Your Aunt Robin?

Not only did he receive some “Best dressed” and “Best supporting actor who stole the show” love, but How I Met Your Mother’s Barney Stinson, also achieved legen… wait for it… dary status by garnering more romantic attention for his proposal to Robin than Ted’s proposal to the Mother.

4. This most popular new show to begin watching this year was…

The Originals, The Blacklist, Dracula, and Sleepy Hollow were also popular choices among the new shows.

5. The most buzzworthy television series’ in 2013 according to the fans are…

It’s a tie between The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast!

Arrow, Supernatural, Glee and How I Met Your Mother receive an honorable mention.

The least buzzworthy television series of 2013 was Talkin’ Algae with Fred Morton… but that’s probably because I just made that up.
