People’s Choice Awards hosts Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are about to follow in the footsteps of a very famous female hosting duo: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
So, how do the Two Broke Girls stars feel about comparisons to the comedy queens? “We bow down,” says Behrs.
Fey and Poehler are slated to team up again to host this year’s Golden Globes, but Dennings — who will be sporting a (potentially blinged out) cast on Wednesday because of a kitchen mishap — insists comparisons should not be made. “The hair color is as far as it goes,” says Dennings. “We’re honored to even be on the same planet as them.”
Dennings and Behrs — who will be hosting the People’s Choice Awards for the first time — say they turned to former host Queen Latifah for advice about how to tackle the show, which they promise will have “a lot of surprises” and “guest-star action.” Latifah, of course, offered quite a few pearls of wisdom, like “no bathroom breaks allowed!” Watch the video below to see what other bits of advice the girls say Queen Latifah offered them:
Though Dennings and Behrs (who are also nominated for a People’s Choice Award!) are first-time hosts, People’s Choice Awards Exec Producer Mark Burnett says he’s leaving the show in their hands. “These guys are so funny and have great chemistry,” says Burnett. “I couldn’t be happier. I’m just letting them do what they want.”
