If last week’s People’s Choice Awards and last night’s Golden Globes are any indication, 2014 may very well be the year of the award shows. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned to helm the Golden Globes and accomplished a rare feat in the competitive world of award show hosting: they left us wanting more. Check out their five funniest Golden Globe moments below:

1. Tina Fey & Amy Poehler’s amazing opening monologue

The comedic tour-de-force known as the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler monologue should be required reading in Award Show Hosting 101 classes throughout America. Nobody combines good-natured quips with incisive witticisms quite like Fey and Poehler and no celebrity was exempt from their barrage of hilarity.

On George Clooney’s involvement in the movie Gravity: “George Clooney would rather float into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

On Matt Damon: “Matt on any other night in any other room you’d be a big deal, but tonight, and don’t take this the wrong way, you’re basically a garbage person.

2.  Amy Poehler is… Jennifer Lawrence?!

What happens when an irresistible awesome force meets an immovable awesome object? You guessed it, Amy Poehler and Jennifer Lawrence collide!

Tina Fey: Amy Poehler is nominated for her work on Parks and Recreation.

Amy Poehler: I believe Amy is here tonight, can we get a shot of her?

*Cut to Jennifer Lawrence*

Tina Fey: She looks amazing.

Amy Poehler: Radiant. It’s hard to believe she’s a 42-year-old mother of two.

3. Tina Fey presents her son: Mr. Golden Globe

You may be familiar with Miss Golden Globe, but this year in the name of gender equality Tina Fey introduced her son from a previous relationship, Randy aka Mr. Golden Globe. Randy, who bore a striking resemblance to a certain Canadian singer, was played to petulant teenage perfection by co-host Amy Poehler.

After some encouragement from dear old mom, the ever-brooding Randy struck up a conversation with Kevin Bacon’s daughter, Sosie Bacon.

Randy: Hey, your name is Sosie? What are you the Olympics?

Tina Fey: What? No. That’s Sochi, also how can a person be the Olympics?

4. Amy Poehler wins The Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical!

And… exhale. Our faith in humanity has been restored! Amy Poehler not only won a long overdue Golden Globe Award for her pitch perfect portrayal of Pawnee advocate Leslie Knope, but she did it, unsurprisingly, while making us laugh. Watch below as the Golden Globe winner receives a pre-announcement back rub and post-announcement makeout session from U2 frontman Bono.

5. Amy and Tina razz their former SNL co-star Seth Meyers
Amy: “She puts the modern in Modern Family and he puts his phone on silent when he sneaks into women’s locker rooms.”
Tina: “Please welcome Julie Bowen and Seth Meyers.”
It was a mini Saturday Night Live reunion as moments later Seth Meyers presented longtime SNL colleague Andy Samburg with the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
