We have some exciting new television news! The CW recently released promos for two intriguing mid-season series set to debut later this year. Judging from the teasers, both upcoming shows have high-stakes drama and supernatural elements — two things that have become a staple of the network.
Allow us to introduce to you The 100 and Star-Crossed!
“Ninety-seven years ago a nuclear apocalypse killed everything on earth,” states the introductory voice-over of the promo for the new CW series The 100. So, you know, heads-up on the whole nuclear apocalypse thing. Starring Eliza Taylor, Henry “Desmond” Ian Cusick, Paige Turco, Kelly Hu and Isiah Washington, The 100 centers around a spaceship that sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of re-populating the planet. Is it just us or is The 100 giving off a compelling Lost meets Lord of the Flies vibe?
Take a look at the promo below!
“Who we are and who we need to be to survive are very different things.”
Wow. Goosebumps. The 100 debuts on The CW March 19th, 2014.
The CW’s Star-Crossed focuses on a romance between a human girl and an alien boy when he and eight others of his kind are integrated into a suburban high school. We’re sensing a very real Roswell meets Romeo and Juliet feel from this intriguing premise.
Friday Night Light’s Aimee Teegarden and 90210’s Matt Lanter headline the cast of Star-Crossed, which debuts on The CW on February 17th, 2014.
What do you think? Do you plan to watch The 100 or Star-Crossed? Which show do you think has more promise?
