Lorde has some high praise for pal Taylor Swift.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the 17-year-old “Royals” singer reportedly says Taylor Swift is one of the few young musicians who captures “real teenage voices.”

“There are very few of us,” says Lorde, who recently attended Swift’s 24th birthday bash in Australia. “The other teenagers sing other people’s songs, which is fine, but it’s not an authentic teenage experience.”

As for those “other teenagers”? Lorde made headlines a few months ago when she slammed Selena Gomez for the lyrics to her single “Come and Get It.”

Gomez however seems to be taking it all in stride.

“I recently did an interview and they asked me who I thought was up-and-coming and making a difference. I said, ‘She doesn’t like me, but Lorde.’ I’m going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she’s doing great things. Some day I will see her and we’ll be cool,” Gomez told Seventeen.
