British singer Ed Sheeran is almost as famous for covering the songs of other artists as he is for his own music. But, for good reason — Sheeran’s unique renditions of popular songs are always beautiful, soulful, and different from the original in an unexpected way.

From Britney and Rihanna’s pop tunes, to alternative bands like Oasis, he covers it all. Hear Sheeran’s seven best covers below:

1. Britney Spears – “Hit Me Baby One More Time”

Who knew that a Britney song could sound so good acoustic?

2. Blackstreet – “No Diggity vs. Thrift Shop”

Along with his friend Passenger, Sheeran does a version of the classic hip-hop song that you’ll want to listen to on repeat.

3. Rihanna – “We Found Love”

Sheeran slows down one of Rihanna’s most iconic songs in this cover, making it seem like a completely different tune — in a good way.

4. Taylor Swift – “I Knew You Were Trouble”

Swift and Sheeran are good friends and tour mates, which makes this cover seem all the more fun. They’ve even performed it live together a few times!

5. Jay Z and Alicia Keys – “Empire State of Mind”

Although it’s widely known that Sheeran is a good rapper, it’s still fairly surprising (and awesome!) to see a folk/pop singer cover a Jay Z song.

6. Oasis – “Wonderwall”

Sheeran covered Ryan Adams’ version of “Wonderwall” in 2013.

7. Adele – “Someone Like You”

Simply put, the singer’s cover of fellow Brit Adele’s song is beautiful. There might not be another male voice that can carry the tough tune quite like Sheeran.
