After weeks of speculation it’s finally official: Gwen Stefani is heading to The Voice!

The No Doubt singer will join the NBC reality series for season 7 replacing Christina Aguilera, who will be going on maternity leave. Aguilera will reportedly return to her coaching chair for season 8. Stefani confirmed the news Tuesday night via Instagram.

Carson Daly welcomed Stefani, as well as the previously announced Pharrell Williams, during the beginning of Tuesday night’s episode. “We’re so happy to have them join our ever-growing Voice family,” Daly said during the broadcast. “They’re both incredible people, insanely talented.”

Fans won’t have to wait until next season to see the reality series rookies appear on The Voice, both Williams and Stefani are scheduled to perform on the program during the live May 5th telecast.
