You know that old saying, the book is always better than the movie?

Well, the movie version of John’s Green wildly popular romance drama The Fault in Our Stars took in $48 million opening weekend, leaving some to wonder if the movie actually is better than the book.

From Lois Lowry’s classic The Giver to Gillian Flynn’s domestic thriller Gone Girl, there are several movie adaptations coming this year that may give their respective books a run for their money.
