Here are six incredibly inspirational moments from football movies to pump you up for this season.

1. Coach Boone (Denzel Washington) from Remember the Titans (2000)

Coach Boone: “What are you?”

'Remember the Titans'
Team: “Mobile, agile, hostile!”

'Remember the Titans'

Coach Boone: “What is pain?”

'Remember the Titans'
Team: “French bread!”
Coach Boone: “What is fatigue?”
Team: “Army clothes!”

'Remember the Titans'
Coach Boone: “Will you ever quit?”

'Remember the Titans'
Team: “No! We want some mo’, we want some mo’, we want some mo’!”

2. Fortune (Charles S. Dutton) from Rudy (1993)

Fortune from 'Rudy'

“You’re five-feet-nothin.’ A hundred-and-nothin,’ and you got hardly a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in with the best college football team in the land for two years! And you’re also going to walk out of here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this lifetime, you’re gonna have to prove nothing to nobody except yourself.”

Spoiler Alert: Rudy ends up getting put in a game and is carried off the field triumphantly by his teammates. Fortune is one proud mentor.

3. Coach Gary Gaines (Billy Bob Thornton) from Friday Night Lights (2004)

'Friday Night Lights'

“Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down, because you told them the truth.”

'Friday Night Lights'

“And that truth is that you did everything you could. There wasn’t one more thing that you could have done.”

'Friday Night Lights'

“Can you live in that moment? As best you can, with clear eyes and love in your heart. With joy in your heart.”

'Friday Night Lights'

“If you can do that gentlemen, then you’re perfect.”

4. Coach Jack Lengyel (Matthew McConaughey) from We Are Marshall (2006)

“When you take that field today, you’ve got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the soles of your feet, with every ounce of blood you got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows. And if you do that… if you do that, we cannot lose.”

5. Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) and Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) from The Blind Side (2009

6. Coach Tony D’Amato (Al Pacino) from Any Given Sunday (1999)

'Any Given Sunday'

“I’ll tell you this. In any fight, it’s the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it’s because I am still willing to fight and die for that inch. Because that is what living is. The six inches in front of your face.”
