We certainly do not want to cause any treble, but Meghan Trainor’s acoustic cover of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” is absolutely amazing!

Trainor, whose own catchy tune “All About That Bass” is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list for the second straight week, provided her own unique twist on the Taylor Swift single by performing a stripped down version during a recent appearance on the Dan and Maz radio show.

If you listen closely, you can even hear Trainor singing to Taylor Swift around the 2:11 mark of the video.

“So Taylor, shake ’em off
Don’t let ’em get to ya
Go ahead and dance like there ain’t nobody watchin’ ya”‘

Swift unveiled “Shake It Off” during a Yahoo livestream last month and said the song was inspired by some tough lessons she’s learned this past year.

“People can say what they want about us, at any time … and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to it,” said Swift. “I figure we have two options: we can let it change you … option two, is you just shake it off.”

Could Trainor’s acoustic homage be the first step toward a duet for the two singers? We certainly hope so!
