Expect less spooks and more style from Pretty Little Liars’ first-ever Christmas episode.
PLL star Sasha Pieterse told People’s Choice that the much-anticipated holiday original — which is taking the place of the series’ annual Halloween special — will be very, very pretty.
“It’s not so scary,” said Pieterse at People’s Ones to Watch party earlier this year. “Everything is actually really glamorous.”
One particularly “glam” set piece fans should keep an eye out for? A huge chandelier, which Pieterse said was featured in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
“Audrey Hepburn sat underneath it and it’s been in WB history for a very long time,” said Pieterse, who described the set as a winter wonderland. “So, for us, it was really cool to be around that.”
Echoing Pieterse’s sentiments, PLL costume designer Mandi Line previously told People’s Choice that the Christmas special is the “softest, most sophisticated, beautiful episode we’ve done.” Line said she was instructed to create an “icy” feel.
“So [you’ll see] beautiful mint tones and blues and silvers and sparkly… It’s going to be the prettiest you’ve seen these girls—the most soft and special. And they’re growing up too, so it’s also sophisticated,” Line explained.
Don't worry though. While the episode may be high on style, it certainly doesn't skimp on thrills.
"There's a lot of cool things that happen with Allison and with the girls," said Pieterse, who hinted that at least one major development will take place. "There's a lot of twists and turns."
And they won't stop with that episode.
Pieterse teased that a lot of things will happen toward the end of the season that "kind of unfold and show the girls a different side of A, a different side of Allison, and a different side of everything that’s happening in Rosewood. They change their mind on who they're suspecting."
Promised Pieterse: "The fans have a lot to look forward to."
We'll hold her to it!
