One Direction fans, get ready: Harry Styles is coming to a theater near you. Or, at least, a version of him. With the big-screen adaptation of the One Direction fanfiction After in the works, it’s only a matter of time before someone brings the character based on the superstar boy-bander to life. But who out there could manage to capture all of the real Styles’ talent and charm, while simultaneously bringing the necessary intensity and bad boy edge that the fictional Harry has in spades?

It’s definitely a tall order, but luckily for fans and casting agents everywhere, we’ve got a few ideas of our own, to help narrow down the search for the perfect fictional Harry. We’ve combed through some of the biggest names and hottest rising stars in Hollywood to compile our short-list of six actors who could play After‘s leading man. Now all that’s left to do is to cast the other four members of One Direction…

1. Graham Phillips

When it comes to finding One Direction doppelgängers, it’s hard to think of a better match for Styles than The Good Wife star Graham Phillips. Between his perfectly coiffed dark hair, equally piercing blue eyes and charming smile, the actor bears a striking resemblance to everyone’s favorite boy-bander. Between his extensive dramatic chops and his run on Broadway, he should have no problem handling the intensity of the role, and he’ll be able to throw in a quick song and dance number as well. In fact, the only thing that’s keeping Phillips from actually being Styles is his lack of a British accent.

2. Taron Egerton

You might not know this Welsh actor very well right now, but he’s about to become a household name, thanks to a starring role in the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service. His resemblance to Styles might not be as strong as Phillips’, but between his British heritage, that mischievous look in his eyes and a jaw line that wouldn’t be out-of-place in a fashion campaign, we think he’ll have no problem nailing Harry’s bad boy charm.

3. George Shelley

Sure, we’ve never actually seen the Union J singer act before, but that doesn’t mean Shelley wouldn’t be an excellent choice to play a version of Styles. After all, he’s got the same signature hair, the same wide eyes, and the same swoon-worthy singing voice — not to mention the all-important British accent. Plus, unlike the other gentlemen on our list, he actually knows what it’s like to be in a boy-band, which should help him channel a little bit of Styles into the role.

4. Zac Efron

Efron might not look too much like Styles, but the former Disney Channel heartthrob still has plenty in common with the superstar. They both became international icons as teenagers, both have wonderful singing voices, and both are incredibly, stunningly good-looking, which means Efron has the charm and experience the role needs. And if his recent foray into comedies like That Awkward Moment and Neighbors has proven anything, it’s that Efron has the ability to turn any character into a guy worth daydreaming about.

5. Dylan O’Brien

Out of all of the names on this list, O’Brien bears the least resemblance to Styles and has the least in common with him. But what the Teen Wolf actor does have is plenty of experience playing both dark, tortured characters as well as goofy, wise cracking ones. It’s that combination of intensity and charisma that would make him perfect for the role (plus, he’s already used to playing a character named Stiles). If we haven’t convinced you yet, just imagine O’Brien covered in tattoos – you’re on board now, aren’t you?

6. A young Mick Jagger

In a perfect world, we would be able to see Styles played by the one person who could truly capture all of his charm, stage presence, good looks and ability to rock ankle boots and printed shirts: Mick Jagger. Unfortunately, at 71, Sir Mick has aged out of the role, but if the producers of After could find a way to CGI him back to his 20s, he’s probably beat out everyone in Hollywood for the role.
