The middle of winter can sometimes get a little depressing. The sky’s grey all the time and everything just seems kind of boring and bland. We could all use a bit of a pick me up, but who really wants to head out into the frigid weather to change things up?

Thankfully, there’s been an influx of great feel-good movies hitting theaters in recent years, so a little bit of sunshine might be just a click away. In order to help you brighten up the long winter nights, our friends at Reddit have inspired us to round-up 15 movies that will warm you up until spring. And you don’t even have to leave the house!

1. The Lego Movie

There are movies that make you feel good, and then there are movies that leave you feeling like everything is awesome. The Lego Movie is, of course, the latter.

2. Fantastic Mr. Fox

Roald Dahl’s whimsy plus Wes Anderson’s sense of humor plus plenty of heart means Fantastic Mr. Fox truly lives up to its title.

3. The Intouchables

This charming French film about the friendship between a disabled billionaire (Francois Cluzet) and his ex-con caretaker (Omar Sy) will warm you up better than a mug of hot cocoa.

4. The Way, Way Back

If nothing else, Water Wizz will take you straight back to childhood with its perfect mix of eccentric workers, questionable cleanliness, and weird urban legends. You can practically smell the chlorine.

This story about a girl who decides to help out the people around her – and falls in love along the way – is basically the epitome of French charm.

6. Hugo

7. Guardians of the Galaxy

Any movie that opens with Chris Pratt dancing his way through an underground cave to the sweet, sweet sounds of Redbone is the kind of film that’s bound to turn your day around.

8. Moonrise Kingdom

With this film, you can vicariously run off on an outdoor adventure with your childhood sweetheart — but without ever having to leave your couch.

9. WALL-E

Sure, there’s a lesson to be learned about caring for the environment, but the real heart of the story is about a robot that just wants to hold hands. Awww.

10. About Time

Some parts of this movie will might make you cry, but by the time the credits roll (with Ben Folds playing softly over them), you’ll feel so hopeful about the world you might even want to call your parents.

11. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

Want a live-action comic book but with a goofy, sarcastic sense of humor? Want something that will inspire you to stand up for yourself? We’ve got just the film for you…

12. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

13. Chef

Warning: don’t watch this film when you’re hungry, or you’ll be making a few frantic phone calls to your nearest taco joint in no time. On second thought, maybe you should watch it hungry.

14. Finding Nemo

“Just keep swimming” is more than just a funny line; it’s a life motto, and it’ll get you all the way to P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney. Or, you know, wherever else you want to go.

15. August Rush

If you’ve ever wondered what Freddie Highmore was up to before he turned into Norman Bates, the answer is “reconnecting his parents through the power of love and music.”
