You’re not the only one who thinks Dylan O’Brien should portray Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel Comics Universe reboot.

When People’s Choice caught up with Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey at the MTV Upfronts last month, we asked him whether he thought his castmate would be a good fit to play the web-slinging superhero. Turned out, Posey couldn’t be more supportive of the idea.

“He’s the best actor in the world. Of course he would be a good Spider-Man,” Posey told People’s Choice.

Plus, Posey reminded us, O'Brien has already proved he's got what it takes to battle it out on the big screen with the Maze Runner franchise.

"He's already a superhero," Posey said.

Fans — and Posey — however, may have to wait awhile to find out whether O'Brien could actually be a serious contender for the part of Spidey.

After reports surfaced in March that O'Brien had been cast to portray Peter Parker, the actor told Buzzfeed that he hadn't even auditioned for the role.

“Professionally, I haven’t heard anything about it. I’ve only heard from, like, [rumors] online,” O’Brien said.

That's not to say he wouldn't be interested if the opportunity came up though.

“I’ve always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously,” O'Brien told Buzzfeed. “I feel like any actor my age, that’s, like, a big thing. And my name being tossed with [fellow rumored frontrunner] Logan Lerman’s is the coolest thing ever, too.”

Of course, if O'Brien doesn't end up in the Spidey suit, there are other roles he can tackle, like for instance playing Harry Styles in the upcoming One Direction fanfiction-inspired film, After.

When People's Choice sorted through the stars who could portray Styles, O'Brien was at the top of our list. Unfortunately, when we caught up with the actor at PaleyFest in April he told us he wasn't quite as confident in his abilities to portray the One Direction singer as we were. He even listed out the not-so-great skills he would bring to the role like “a horrible English accent, probably similar-yet-worse looks, and I couldn’t sing, and I’m probably less cool, too."

Still, if O'Brien ever decides to vie for the part (despite his bad singing), he can rest assured that he'll have his Teen Wolf co-star in his corner.

"Whatever that boy wants to do, I'm for it," Posey told People's Choice.

Season five of Teen Wolf premieres on MTV on June 29.
