Grey’s Anatomy is notorious for tugging at viewers’ heartstrings with emotional storylines, and nobody knows that better than actor Jesse Williams. After all, his character Jackson Avery shared one of the most tragic storylines of season 11 with April Kepner (Sarah Drew).
Of course, we’re talking about the devastating death of the couple’s newborn — a loss which ultimately prompted April to enlist in the army and leave Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
When we caught up with Williams on the set of his new film, Money, the actor confessed that the storyline with the baby was by far one of his favorites to work on last season.
“My favorite stuff was probably the horrible baby stuff, to be honest, because I think I learned a lot,” said Williams. “We got to exercise [and] we got to try new things.”
Of course, Williams couldn't talk about the harrowing baby storyline without mentioning his co-star Sarah Drew and unsurprisingly, he had nothing but great things to say about his on-screen counterpart.
“She’s a tremendous scene partner— she’s really dedicated to the work,” said Williams of his co-star.
