The latest trailer for the final episode of the popular British drama Downton Abbey certainly drives home the point that all good things must come to an end.

Set to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne,” the trailer for the final episode is sure to leave fans feeling a bit bittersweet. And just as viewers are preparing to say goodbye to some of their favorite characters, those who live at Downton Abbey are getting ready to say goodbye to each other.

Thomas (Rob James-Collier) has definitely had a rough past throughout the series, but it looks as though he’s made peace with things if the trailer is anything to go by. He’s one of the characters seen bidding farewell in the brand new teaser, telling the Crowleys that he “arrived here as a boy, but I leave as a man.” The mystery of where he’ll go next after he leaves the house, though, is still up in the air.

All in all, the trailer tells us that change at Downton Abbey is in fact inevitable. “The world is a different place from the way it was, My Lord,” says Carson at one point to Lord Grantham. “And Downton Abbey must change with it.”

The final Christmas episode of Downton Abbey is set to air on PBS on March 6.
