“We’re all excited about the projects we have upcoming but it’s like, this is our family, we’ve grown up with each other,” explained Marano. “I mean [the last day was] so emotional— it was really, really sad.”

As for the finale, which is set to air on Jan. 10, 2016, it sounds as though the show is going off with a bang. Marano specifically teased that there are a few surprises in store for fans who tune in.

“I’m so excited for everyone to see it,” said Marano of the final episode. “I think there was a few surprises that definitely happen, but it’s really, really, great and I think it wraps up really well.”

Coming up next, fans of Marano can catch her in the upcoming film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, where she’ll be playing a babysitter the singing critters happen upon in a hotel.

The series finale of Austin & Ally is set to air on January 10, 2016.
