Priyanka Chopra may have won over India, but after the People’s Choice Awards last night, it’s clear she’s well on her way to winning over America as well.

The Quantico star — who’s already won countless awards in India for her work in Bollywood movies  — earned her first-ever Hollywood trophy last night when she was voted this year’s “Favorite Actress In a New TV Series” at People’s Choice Awards 2016. Even more remarkably, Chopra also became the first South Asian actress to win a PCA (and we’re pretty sure, the first South Asian actress to win any major Hollywood award period). The actress told us backstage that she was a little “overwhelmed” by the big win.

“I am so super overwhelmed to win this!” said Chopra when she accepted the award backstage. “Getting it the first year of being in a completely different country, I’m very excited!”

Chopra’s excitement definitely showed, too — she even gave her new award a big kiss before wrapping up her acceptance speech.

“Thank you to the people for making me your choice — it’s so great, I love it!” said the actress.

Quantico returns with brand new episodes on Sunday, March 6. Check out the full list of People's Choice Awards 2016 winners here, and be sure to let us know in the comments what you thought of the show!
