One of the best parts about the record-breaking new Star Wars film is the heroic exploits of Finn, portrayed by John Boyega. While fans continue to flock to the cinema in droves to watch or rewatch or re-re-watch The Force Awakens, we can’t help but look ahead to director Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII.

During a recent interview with British Vogue, Boyega revealed that fans should expect a darker story in the next chapter of the epic Star Wars saga.

“It’s great. Much darker, but we’re very excited,” Boyega said.

Not only will Episode VIII be much darker, but there will also be an increase in physicality. Boyega noted that while he didn’t really have to train for his performance in The Force Awakens (we’re guessing he’s just a natural when it comes to wielding lightsabers), he might be making quite a few treks to the gym for his role in 2017’s Episode VIII.

“My part in the next film will be much more physical, so I might be in the gym a bit more,” the star revealed.

Also starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, and Benicio Del Toro, Star Wars: Episode VIII will arrive in theaters May 26, 2017.
