Meghan Trainor may be best known for “All About That Bass,” the sassy hit single off her debut album, Title, but when it comes to writing music for her next record, she’s going down a much sweeter path.
When we caught up with the singer backstage at the People’s Choice Awards in January, the “Favorite Album” winner told she’s almost done wrapping up her sophomore LP, Thank You, and teased that one of the songs on the record will definitely tug at listeners’ heartstrings.
"[There's] one collaboration with my mom," said Trainor about the song, which is aptly titled Mom. "So get ready for the most adorable song you've ever heard!"
Back in the spring of 2015, Meghan posted a throwback photo of her mom captioning the pic, "I wrote my mom a beautiful song today." Could this be the same song we'll hear on Trainor's upcoming album?
Last year, Meghan Trainor's major-label debut album Title was an immediate fan favorite debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. Featuring one of the catchiest anthems of the year, "All About That Bass," Trainor's hit single would go on to earn the artist two Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Meghan Trainor's second studio album, Thank You, is expected to drop later this year.
