E-V-E is B-A-C-K!
Not only is the singer embarking on a just-announced North American tour with Gwen Stefani this summer, she’s also “inspired” to start making music again.
When People’s Choice sat down with the rapper/actress for the Barbershop 3: The Next Cut junket earlier this month, the topic of conversation turned from movies to music and Eve delivered some great news to her ever-faithful rap fans.
"I'm definitely inspired again," said Eve when asked if she has new music on the horizon. "I'm ready to start doing music again."
The Philadelphia female force made her first appearance in the rap game back in the late '90s collaborating with Dr. Dre on Aftermath Entertainment and DMX on Ruff Ryders. Her 2001 single, "Who's That Girl" shot Eve to stardom thanks to her brandish yet sultry musical delivery. Over the years, Eve has teamed up with the likes of Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Missy Elliott and Snoop Dogg on collaborations. Eve joined forces with Stefani in 2001 for the track "Let Me Blow Ya Mind," and then again in 2004 for "Rich Girl." The singer has dropped four solo studio albums, her most recent being Lip Lock in 2013.
Though Eve has yet to announce when she'll be dropping her new tracks, we can't imagine a better time to debut new music than during Stefani's This Is What the Truth Feels Like tour this summer.
Barbershop: The Next Cut stars Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall, Common and more is in theaters now. Eve's tour with Gwen Stefani kicks off in Mansfield, Massachusetts on July 12. See tour dates here.
