Actor John Stamos had a big night at the TV Land Icon Awards on Sunday (April 17) in Los Angeles. Honored with the Timeless Icon Award, the Fuller House star revealed that he wished he could have shared the moment with two very special people: his late parents.
Stamos’ parents may be gone, but they’re certainly not forgotten, and in a touching moment, the actor got choked up while talking about them during his acceptance speech.
“I wanna thank my parents. Boy, they would’ve loved this, Loretta and Bill….they were really good people. They taught me to be kind and to be generous and to be loving to everyone that you meet on this journey,” said Stamos. “And to appreciate every single moment you have on this planet because it’s so damn precious. I’m gonna treasure this moment, thank you.”
Stamos’ big night at the awards didn’t stop there. The Grandfathered star also surprised everyone in attendance when he hit the stage with musical guests, The Beach Boys. Stamos got the crowd going after he appeared on stage and joined the iconic band for a rendition of “Barbara Ann.”
