It turns out that fans of the feverishly adored yet ratings-challenged series Hannibal aren’t the only ones who’d like to see the canceled NBC series return from the television graveyard.

The star of Hannibal, Mads Mikkelsen, recently revealed to Express that if series creator Bryan Fuller wanted to continue the series, he’d be up for it.

“It all depends on Bryan. He is the key, the base, the heart,” Mikkelsen told Express. “We will wait and see what happens next in his career.”

Mikkelsen even had a suggestion for a potential fourth season, proposing that they could pick up the series four years later.

“But we all know that we can easily pick this up in two or three years, there are breaks in the stories. We could pick it up, say, four years later. If Bryan is up for it, we will all go for it. He loved it. It was his baby. Let’s wait and see,” Mikkelson told the outlet.

After Hannibal was axed by NBC in June 2015, series creator Fuller shopped it to other outlets. Ultimately however, both Amazon and Netflix passed on resurrecting the series for a fourth season. Given Mikkelson’s recent comment though, it looks like fans shouldn’t give up on a revival just yet.
