Disneyland Might Replace This Iconic Ride With ‘The Guardians Of The Galaxy’

The next stop for the Guardians of the Galaxy might just be the happiest place on earth.

The website Micechat reports that The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, one of the most well-known rides at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim, California, may be receiving a Guardians of the Galaxy-style makeover. The proposed procedure would remove the original Twilight Zone backstory and change the entire interior and exterior of the ride into a story about the Guardians and the Collector.

If everything goes according to plan, the newly renovated attraction’s opening would correspond with the May 2017 release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Based upon Rod Serling’s anthology series The Twilight Zone, the Tower of Terror celebrated its 20th anniversary back in 2014. The new Guardians proposal is part of a multi-year plan to add more Marvel related attractions to the theme park, because despite Disney acquiring Marvel back in 2009, there still isn’t a new Marvel ride in the California parks.

Sadly, Groot was unavailable for comment on this story.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently scheduled for a May 5, 2017 release.
