What are the TV shows that fans can’t stop buzzing about on social media?
With an assist from the social analytics company MVPindex, The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed the most-talked about television shows on social media during the final week of April. According to an algorithm that weighs a combination of mentions, likes, comments, and shares of a show’s content on Facebook, the most-talked about program on television last week was (surprise, surprise) Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones’ social media dominance shouldn’t come as a shock to fans of the popular drama as millions of people turn to their computers every Sunday night to sound off on all the latest twists. Rounding out the top three on the list are ABC’s long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy and the Fox comedy New Girl, which honored the passing of Prince last Tuesday (April 26) by re-airing the season three post-Super Bowl episode in which the revered performer made a guest appearance.
Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars and Fox’s animated stalwart The Simpsons rounded out the top five, earning the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Check out the full top 10 list over at The Hollywood Reporter.
An all new episode of Game of Thrones airs this Sunday on HBO.
