The first official trailer for Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and The Beast premiered on Good Morning America on Monday (May 23).

The breathtaking trailer mostly focuses on shots of the re-imagined candlelit mansion with the iconic soundtrack playing in the background. The pivotal moment in the clip comes when Belle, played by Emma Watson, sees the enchanted rose for the first time.

Although we see Belle for a moment, we have yet to see Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens as the Beast. Others cast members in the live-action remake include  Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. The film was first announced to be underway back in 2014 with Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls) as director.

Back in 1991, Disney’s animated version of the romantic French fairytale captured audience of all ages, grossing $425 million worldwide. The following year, the film made history as the first first animated feature film to ever be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Although Walt Disney didn’t win in that category, the film did take home Oscars for Best Music, Original Score and Best Music, Original Song. Beauty and the Beast, along with the likes of The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, is considered one of Disney’s classics.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will enchant a new generation of audiences once again when it hits theaters on march 17, 2017. For now, check out the first glimpse of the magic with the teaser trailer above.
