Fans with a One Direction-sized void in their summer playlists may soon have reason to celebrate!
Niall Horan is reportedly making good use of the band’s current hiatus by teaming up to write new music with Wayne Hector, the man behind 1D favorites like “Steal My Girl,” Best Song Ever,” and “History.”
“We are writing together but he wants to do it for himself and not other people at the moment,” Hector told The Daily Star, as reported by Capital FM. “We have no idea where we’ll end up.”
MTV News reports that Horan has already written and registered one new song, “Don’t Give Up On Our Love,” with writer Jake Gosling, but it’s unclear if the track is part of his personal solo plans since there’s no performer listed.
Horan isn’t the first member of the band rumored to be exploring a solo career. After Zayn Malik’s sudden departure back in March of 2015, reports surfaced that Harry Styles was working on launching a solo career, while Louis Tomlinson said back in October that he planned to write music with bandmate Liam Payne during the band’s break.
In other words, while we may have to wait longer than we’d like for a new One Direction album, new music from various members of this talented quartet could potentially be right around the corner.
What do you think? Are you excited about the prospect of some solo music from Niall Horan?
