It looks like the eagerly anticipated Prison Break revival will be flashing-forward even farther than expected!
The recently released trailer for Fox’s upcoming Prison Break revival shows frequently incarcerated hero Michael Scofield (surprisingly) alive and (not surprisingly) behind bars, as a number of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees reunite for a brand-new adventure.
While promoting the second season of her USA series Colony with costar Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies, who is set to reprise her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi on Prison Break, revealed that the new episodes will pick up a whopping seven years after the events of the series finale (a number of earlier reports claimed the show was planning a five-year flash-forward).
"It takes place seven years later," Callies told People's Choice during the NBC Upfronts. "We're picking up with these characters at a time where we've spent more time away from them then we ever spent with them. A lot changes in seven years. They're the same people, and yet they're not the same people, and I think that was a really intelligent and creative way to approach it."
Along with Wentworth Miller and Sarah Wayne Callies, original stars Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows), Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note), Robert Knepper (T-Bag), and Amaury Nolasco (Sucre) are returning for the revival.
The Prison Break revival is scheduled to premiere on Fox in 2017.
