Bad news, High School Musical fans. It’s looking like Sharpay Evans is one wildcat you won’t be seeing in High School Musical 4.

Actress Ashley Tisdale, who played Sharpay in the first three films, recently told New You that she would not be returning for the fourth installment of the series.

“Looking back, it was such a perfect thing for its time and was so pure that I just don’t know how you go from there,” said Tisdale. “High School Musical didn’t make us, we made High School Musical because of our friendships, how close we were, and the magic there at the time. Kenny Ortega just made it what it was.”

Though she won’t be returning, Tisdale said she’s confident in Disney’s plans for the next installment of the franchise.

“Disney is an amazing company so I’m sure they’ll find some way to do it,” said Tisdale.

Tisdale isn’t the only HSM alum that’s got full faith in HSM 4. When we caught up with Vanessa Hudgens at the NBC Universal Upfront last month, the actress shared some great advice for whoever gets cast in the next chapter of the story.

“Just have fun,” Hudgens told People’s Choice. “We were kids having fun singing and dancing and it just clicked. I feel like if [the new cast] have fun, the audience will be ale to enjoy it as well.”
