It’s a Wednesday, so move over that mid-week slump with some Mindy Project casting changes, updates on BET’s Prince tribute, and Adam Levine’s first movie project since Begin Again. That and more in today’s headlines.

1. Chris Messina will no longer be a series regular in Season 5 of The Mindy Project. We’ll miss Danny, and his occasional stripper moves, being around all the time. [TV Line]

2. Hairspray Live! found it’s lead actress from an open call audition. Maddie Baillio will shimmy into the role of Tracy Turnblad. [Billboard]

3. D’Angelo and Janelle Monae are both part of the Prince tribute at the BET Awards. They’re under a lot of pressure to back up BET’s smack talk after recent tributes. [E! Online]

4. Adam Levine was cast in comedy The Clapper. We say “Clap on” to this casting notice. [Deadline]

5. Britt Robertson will be the lead in Netflix’s Girlboss adaptation. Throw some red lipstick on her and borrow some Louboutins, this sounds like it will be great. [Vulture]

6. Ridley Scott will be honored with the American Cinematheque Award. At awards shows, no one can hear you scream. [Variety]
