You may think you belong in Gryffindor or Slytherin, but every Harry Potter fan knows that you’ll never know which Hogwarts house you truly belong in until you’ve taken J.K. Rowling’s official Sorting Hat quiz on Pottermore.
This week, Pottermore had a bit of fun with the Sorting Hat quiz, created by Rowling herself, when they brought in Potter alums Rupert Grint (Ron Weaseley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and had them take the quiz themselves.
In the video posted on the website, we even get to see the reaction on each of the actor’s faces as they agonize over whether they should pick between things like white or black, or which magical object they’d most like to examine first. But perhaps the most priceless moment comes toward the end when each of the actors discover which house they truly belong in.
Some, like Grint and Lewis, were pleasantly shocked to discover that they’d been sorted into Hufflepuff despite the fact that both of their on screen personas are Gryffindors to the core. Meanwhile, Wright felt vindicated in knowing that just like Ginny, she had been sorted into Ravenclaw.
Finally, despite the fact that she’s the perfect Luna Lovegood, Evanna Lynch proved once and for all that she’s actually been a Gryffindor all along.
“Thrilled, but also, like, not surprised,” said Lynch of her official sorting.
It’s no wonder the actress wasn’t surprised. It’s a well known fact that Lynch was a huge Potter fan before she was cast as Luna Lovegood. The actress even took Pottermore’s sorting hat quiz the first time around back in 2011 before Rowling’s website got a huge overhaul design.
“I’m in Gryffindor. #Pottermore #confusion #shock #pride #happiness #LUNADONTLEAVEME!!!” wrote the actress via her Twitter account.
It sounds to us like Lynch has had a few years to come to terms with the fact that she’s been a Gryffindor all along. In time, we’re sure both Grint and Lewis will take their new house allegiances in stride as well!
