Variety reports that Netfix has officially announced plans to turn the beloved film franchise into an animated series.

The popular online streaming service revealed that they’ll be working on an animated Spy Kids series as part of their new slate of children’s programming, set to hit the site in 2017 and 2018.

The upcoming show, called Spy Kids: Mission Critical, follows the Cortez siblings as they set off to attend the top secret Spy Kids Academy. Once there, viewers will watch as Juni and Carmen train a team of fellow spy kids and lead them into battle against the evil Golden Brain and his sinister forces at S.W.A.M.P (Sinister Wrongdoers Against Mankind’s Preservation).

Along with Spy Kids: Mission Critical, Netflix’s newest slate of children’s programming also includes Skylander Academy, based on the popular video game, an adaptation of author Anna Dewdney’s Llama Llama books, Spirit Riding Free, inspired by Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron, and Hilda, based off the graphic novels by Luke Pearson.

In a statement announcing their new slate, Andy Yeatman, director of global kids content for Netflix revealed that the company’s ultimate goal is to “invest in stories that our members will love and cherish.”

“This passion for discovering great storytelling extends to what we offer our youngest members,” said Yeatman. “We’re excited today to announce a lineup of original shows that will bring a number of well-known and beloved characters to kids and families around the globe.”

Spy Kids: Mission Critical premieres on Netflix sometime in 2018
