This ‘NCIS’ Casting News Might Help You Get Over Michael Weatherly’s Depature

While NCIS fans still bemoaning the loss of original cast member Michael Weatherly, the drama is adding a seasoned TV vet to fill out the cast in season 14.

According to TVLine, That ’70s Show alum Wilmer Valderrama will join the cast as a series regular in the upcoming season.  Valderrama will play a NCIS field agent who has returned from a deep cover assignment and is described as an “unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.”

“Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical and comedic talents in this classic NCIS role,” executive producer Gary Glasberg said in a statement. “Fans are going to see him like they’ve never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We’re thrilled he’s coming aboard.”

CBS’ long-running procedural has seen its fair share of casting changes since Weatherly’s Special Agent Tony DiNozzo departed the show. Last spring, the series added Duane Henry and former 24 actress Sarah Clarke to the cast for the final two episodes of season thirteen, with an option to become series regulars in the upcoming season.

Valderrama, who recently made reoccurring guest appearances on Grey’s Anatomy, Minority Report, and From Dusk Till Dawn, joins former That ’70s Show cast members Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson (The Ranch), and Laura Prepon (Orange is the New Black) in returning to the small screen.

What do you think? Are you excited about Wilmer Valderrama joining the cast of NCIS?
