The Backstreet Boys Announce New Album And Tease A Collaboration Fans Have Been Waiting For

Backstreets back, again!

With summer winding down in August, The Backstreet Boys are planning to heat things back up. And they’re not doing it alone. BSB member Brian Littrell took to Instagram to show that he and the guys were “in the lab” …aka the recording studio…working on something they’ve never tried before.

“BSB featuring FGL…Great record…Comes out last August,” Littrell captioned the behind-the-boards pic yesterday (June 27).

Fans are already rabidly speculating that “FGL” refers to Award-winning Country duo Florida Georgia Line. Flordia Georgia Line is known for their twangy good-time tunes while the ’90s era boy band can cover everything from lovesick angst to intergalactic party tunes (remember the iconic “Everybody” video?), so it’ll be cool to hear how the two sounds mashup for one generation-spanning song.

After a four-year hiatus, BSB dropped their last album in 2013 titled In a World Like This, which sold over 800,000 copies to date. In between then, the boys have diversified their talents with Nick Carter directing and starring in the sc-fi movie, Dead 7. The soundtrack for Dead 7 featured an original collab from BSB members as well as *NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone and 98 Degree’s Jeff Timmons. Talk about ’90s nostalgia overload.

BSB’s ninth studio album, still untitled, is due out in August of this year. So that means the FGL single teased by Littrell will likely serve as the album’s lead single. We’ll just have to wait and hear. Check out the Instagram post below.
