The actress attended a production of the play last week and came face-to-face with new Hermione, Noma Dumezweni. Lucky for us, the meeting of the two Hermiones was well documented. Warning: photos of their encounter are bound to give you all the feels!
For her part, Watson immediately took to Twitter to share an emotional shot of her meeting with Dumezweni backstage. The beautiful photo features the older actress lovingly cupping her cheek.
“It was SO lovely to meet you @MissDumezweni #Hermione,” tweeted Watson.
Later, Watson took to her official Facebook page to elaborate on what it was like to experience Cursed Child on the stage. Fans will be happy to know that the actress gave the eighth Harry Potter story her official stamp of approval.
“Having seen it, I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift,” wrote Watson. “Meeting Noma and seeing her on stage was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright, which as you can imagine was immensely comforting (and emotional)!”
In addition to her heartfelt post, Watson also shared a few more shots from her visit with the Cursed Child cast, including an adorable photo of herself posing with Albus and Scorpius actors Sam Clemmett and Anthony Boyle.
The lovefest didn’t end there. Dumezweni also took to Twitter to offer her own heartfelt message to Watson:
“Now I feel I can share the maHUSSIVE Joy I felt, alongside the company when a beautiful, humble and very kind young lady saw @HPPlayLDN,” wrote Dumezweni. “@EmWatson It really was quite emotional to be in your company…and thank you 4 your lovely self. We spoke of you with MAJOR respect! Blessings Dear…and Thank You!”
