‘Gossip Girl’ Alum Ed Westwick Is Badder Than Chuck Bass In ‘Billionaire Ransom’ Trailer

A brand-new trailer for the thriller Billionaire Ransom has just been released and we guarantee that you’ve never seen actor Ed Westwick in a role quite like this!

The drama centers around a group of privileged kids who get sent to a school specializing at trying to reform the children of the world’s elite. Lead by Kyle (Jeremy Sumpter) and Amy (Phoebe Tonkin), the group of kids find themselves being sent to a wilderness school on a remote island off the coast of Scotland in the hopes that they’ll get put on the straight and narrow once they go through the program.

Things take a turn for the worst, however, when Ed Westwick’s character shows up with his group of mercenaries. The Gossip Girl  alum stars as Billy Speck, a mercenary leader who takes the privileged group of students hostage and demands a ransom of one billion dollars to set them free.

Kyle quickly discovers that Billy plans to kill them all even if they get the money and after that, their only hope of escaping the clutches of the sinister Billy is to use the wilderness training they’ve learned at school in order to outsmart their captors.

Westwick recently tackled playing a Sunset Strip serial killer on the short-lived ABC series, Wicked City, so it’s clear he’s not afraid to tackle dark characters. That being said, there’s something about what we see of him in the trailer for Billionaire Ransom that makes us feel as though this may be his most chilling role yet. After all, Chuck Bass may have been bad — but he was never this bad.

Directed by Jim Gillespie (I Know What You Did Last Summer), the film also stars Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), Elliot Knight (Once Upon A Time), and Sebastian Koch (Homeland).
