Before Drake became one of the most popular musicians of the past decade, he was just a 19-year-old actor with an affinity for Ebay.
Earlier this week, the multi-faceted singer-songwriter shared an adorable handwritten letter he wrote to his mother back in 2006. At the time, Drake was starring on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation and preparing to release his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement.
The note beautifully captures the special bond between mother and son as Drake confesses to going a bit overboard on Ebay, presumably with his mom’s credit card, before thanking good old mom for helping to fund his music and wardrobe.
“I have cancelled the WireImage subscription due to my Ebay charges coming to more than I had planned for,” Drake wrote. “Please know that you will [be] reimbursed fully through several methods and or means of payment. Thanks for temporarily funding my music and wardrobe.”
“eBay was the addiction back in 2006,” Drake captioned the photo. “Def come a long way and it’s safe to say I most likely settled this debt. 😂😂😂 #NothingWithoutMyMom #IProbablyBoughtSomeEvisuJeans.”
What do you think of Drake’s charming handwritten letter?
