The My Little Pony movie is about the get even more major star power. Aussie house singer Sia has officially joined the cast of the My Little Pony: The Movie, reports Variety. Sia is set to play the voice of pony pop star Songbird Serenade. The film’s execs made the cast announcement at San Diego’s Comic-Con over the weekend (July 22).
Sia will join the already star-studded cast of Taye Diggs, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Emily Blunt and Michael Pena for the animated adaptation due out October 2017. Sia will also be contributing two original songs to the film’s soundtrack.
The face-covering star made the announcement official by posting a pic of her pop star pony character on Instagram.
Produced by Stephen Davis and Brian Goldner for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures, the magic children’s romp will be directed by Jayson Thiessen and follow the “Mane 6” ponies — Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Rarity — on a quest to find new friendships. The ponies will no doubt run into Songbird Serenade along their journey.
