Good news, Outlander fans — it looks like we won’t have to worry about saying goodbye to our favorite Scot and his quick-witted Sassenach any time soon!
As fans of the series know, Starz recently renewed Outlander for seasons three and four, but at the Television Critic’s Association on Monday, the network’s executive officer Chris Albrecht took it one step further and promised that fans could all expect the adaptation of author Diana Gabaldon’s beloved series to “be around for a while.”
“We’ve committed at least through book four. As soon as I get to read books five and six, we will get to talk about that,” said Albrecht, as reported by Vulture.
Somehow, we’re not surprised to hear that Starz is committed to seeing Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) journey through to the end. Since premiering two years ago, Outlander has garnered a huge fanbase both consisting of fans who have and have not read the books. Even so, it’s nice to hear that we don’t have to worry about anyone pulling the plug on one of our favorite shows too early!
