It looks like ABC could be setting their sights on a galaxy far far away.
Star Wars may be slaying in the box office, but now there’s a possibility the beloved space odyssey will also be taking over TV in a big way.
During this year’s Television Critics Association semi-annual press tour, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey revealed there have been “ongoing talks” between ABC and Disney with regards to figuring out how to go about bringing a Star Wars primetime series to life.
“As a fan, I would absolutely love to say ‘Yes,’” said Dungey, as reported by EW,. “The conversations with Lucas, we have had conversations with them and will continue to have conversations with them. I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand into our programming.”
Despite being pressed for details however, Dungey wouldn’t go into too much detail about what a Star Wars series on ABC could entail— or even if we could expect something like that to be live action.
“It’s all a little bit hush-hush,” said Dungey.
Regardless, it’s definitely exciting to know that talks are in place!
