‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Alum Patrick Dempsey Taps Back Into McDreamy For Ad Featuring Famous TV Doctors

Grey’s Anatomy alum Patrick Dempsey is officially dusting off his surgical scrubs, but not for the reason you might expect!

The actor recently teamed up with a few other famous on-screen doctors to take part in an epic medical drama mashup.

Together with ER’s Noah Wyle, M*A*S*H’s Alan Alda, House’s Lisa Edelstein, and Scrubs’s Donald Faison, the five actors who have each played fictional doctors on television banded together to participate in a commercial meant to encourage people to get annual check-ups.

The video was produced by Cigna Health Insurance and features the actors as themselves, dressed as their old characters, and hilariously explaining how different they are from their on-screen counterparts.

The fun PSA opens on a surgery room, with Alda asking for a scalpel, before the actor turns to the camera and confesses, “I have no idea what I’m doing.”

Dempsey pops up after, confessing that he never went to college, before the clip goes into why it’s important to get yourself checked out.

It’s definitely a fun way to promote annual check ups, and we’re not going to lie, it was awesome to see some of our favorite fictional doctors back in uniform!
